I love being able to see the new patterns Made for Mermaids is working on behind the scenes but it is so hard to keep them secret. I want you all to enjoy them as much as I do, so I always wait with great anticipation for release day…and it’s finally here! The new Deanna Sweater Pattern from Made for Mermaids is so good. It’s quick, comfy, and a little bit sexy all rolled in to one pattern.
Made for Mermaids Deanna Sweater Pattern Review
PATTERN DESCRIPTION:
Deanna is a knit sweater pattern full of options. There are two necklines, asymmetrical and cowl neck. Can be made in short or long sleeves and includes several hemline options including dress length, tunic, and top lengths. In addition there are options to add bands or hem finish the sweater.
PATTERN SIZING:
Sizes Grey-Red which coordinates with the Made for Mermaids size charts. I cut a Pink chest graded to a purple hip.
Supplies Needed:
-Pattern from Made for Mermaids
-Knit fabric I used a soft sweater knit from Hobby Lobby. This fabric is very soft and drapey without much recovery. A more stable knit will be too restrictive at the shoulder area, however mine is border line too stretchy and makes the fit a bit looser at the shoulders/cowl.
DID IT LOOK LIKE THE PHOTO/DRAWING ON THE PATTERN ENVELOPE ONCE YOU WERE DONE SEWING?
Yes, this was created to reflect the cowl, top length option with the split hem.
WERE THE INSTRUCTIONS EASY TO FOLLOW?
Very easy. Made for Mermaids always provides clear and simple instructions and this top is yet another example of a simple, stylish pattern easy enough for a beginner.
WHAT DID YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT THE PATTERN?
I love both neckline options and that it comes in a top, tunic and dress length. Another highlight of M4M patterns is the layered options on their pdf patterns. You only need to print out the size you need as well as no trim pages.
WOULD YOU SEW IT AGAIN? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS?
Absolutely. I have already made two and would like another for spring to pair with workout pants and jeans alike.
CONCLUSION:
Quick and easy sewing pattern that provides you with a stylish and sexy sweater or dress. Perfect for beginners and beyond.
You can see how well it pairs with the Bridgette Bralette released last year as part of the Lounge and Lace Collection. In addition, the Bree Cami provides the same look if you want more options than the bra. I created my bralette pictured here with double galloon lace found at Hobby Lobby.
Thanks for checking out this new pattern release. I will be back later this week with a look at another view option for the new Deanna Sweater Pattern.
