Let’s start with the pattern. This is the classic and simply amazing Lodo Dress by True Bias. I have lost count of how many of these dresses I have made over the years. I wrote a full review here. The main things I love about this dress are: I can make the shorter dress from one yard of fabric, the slight cocoon shape so nothing is clingy yet it is flattering, the simplicity of the sew (3 seams and facings), no closures, made in stable knit which is a dream to sew, and I can rely on this pattern to always deliver a comfortable and stylish dress in little time.
This dress pattern also comes in a longer length…which requires a tad more fabric. But it is an option if you don’t like the short look. I love pairing this with my favorite pink earrings from Amazon and some cute wedges.
And let’s chat about this gorgeous fabric. I have no idea how Amanda has any left- and at $5/yd it’s an incredible deal. It is a scuba and sews up beautifully. The colors in this floral are amazing! Go grab some before it is all gone.
Do you have favorite patterns that only use a yard of fabric? I would love to hear about more of these unicorns in the sewing world! Tell me below about your favorites so I can try them out.
