Alright! Alright! Alright! It’s time for some major fun 70’s inspired fashion with the brand new Bailey Bell Bottoms released from Made for Mermaids. I saw this pattern become available for testing and I jumped at the chance to make it! I mean, what’s not to love? I give you all the details for this look below, pattern links, fabric info, etc. I also included my full Bailey Pattern Review. Read on to see why I think this pattern is so fun!

Let’s start with the awesome pants. You can find the pattern for these here. It comes in women’s, girl’s, and dolly sizes. My daughter also loves her gathered bell bottom pair, which I wrote a hack post on for Made for Mermaids. You can see how to add the exposed seam here.
Now, let’s chat fabric. My daughter’s pair is made in liverpool from Hobby Lobby. I picked this up on clearance and it worked great. For my pair, I wanted a denim look but something I knew would provide plenty of stretch. I grabbed a couple yards of denim ponte from Mily Mae Fabrics. In hindsight, trying to squeeze a full flare pair from only two yards proved to be a challenge. I had to place one leg in the opposite direction to get it to fit and I feel like the color varies a bit…but I am pretending no one may notice!
After posting in groups about this make, I received lots of questions about my sweater. I am happy to report I wrote a full pattern review on this one. It is the Style Sew Me Madison Cardigan– and I have made it several times. You can read about the red sweater on Minerva’s blog here and my full pattern review here.
If you are still reading…let’s get to the details of the pants. Below you will find my full pattern review:

I chose to make the size Purple with a Blue waistband. I did not grade the pant portion of the pattern, I simply cut my waistband using the Blue sizing.
DID IT LOOK LIKE THE PHOTO/DRAWING ON THE PATTERN ENVELOPE ONCE YOU WERE DONE SEWING?
Yes, these pants were made per the pattern for the full flare option. The inseam on this one is a little longer than others because there is some vertical stretch to this fabric. Fabric with only two-way stretch will not be as long.
WERE THE INSTRUCTIONS EASY TO FOLLOW?
Super easy- this pattern is quick and super easy- great for a beginner. No closures to worry about or tricky steps.
WHAT DID YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT THE PATTERN?
The flare style, the option to make 3 different hemlines, the layered pattern, the quick sew, and pants without any closures to worry about.
WOULD YOU SEW IT AGAIN? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS?
Yes, I just finished another pair and will have more to share ahead.
CONCLUSION:
Another fabulous pattern from Made for Mermaids. I love how quick and easy their sewing patterns are to put together and I always get great pieces that are easy to wear! If you would like to see reviews on other patterns, please check them out here.
Until next time,
