Hello again…two days in a row for a blog post, who am I? LOL- I wanted to pop on here quickly today to show two more fun options for the newly released Hudson Hoodie pattern from Made for Mermaids. Yesterday I posted a full pattern review and showed you the options I made using the pattern HERE. Today I want to show you the options I made following one of the hacks I posted about on the Made for Mermaids blog. You can find all the details for the hack below as well as everyone else’s hack ideas HERE. Creating the DIY sweatshirt of your dreams for you and your family is simple with the new Hudson. I have been living in this sweatshirt since I made it and I need to gather up all the jersey bonded sherpa I can find for a million more.
I can’t even begin to describe how soft and cozy this sweatshirt is. Imagine how shocked I was to find this beautiful fabric at my local Hobby Lobby. How had I missed this in the past? I always love seeing what seasonal options Hobby Lobby brings in, but this jersey bonded sherpa fabric was so perfect for this project and now I need to go to every store near me as I bought the last two yards that I found at my local store. I need more of this in my life for sure!
You can find the details for the hem hack I used on this sweatshirt HERE.
This is really all my sweatshirt dreams come true and I can’t wait to make more. I also took an earlier version of the sweatshirt (you will notice the front seamlines do not hit at the same spot) and added some lace underneath the hem hack to create another fun fall look.
Easy to throw on with boots and jeans or leggings, keeping the sweatshirt a bit longer with the hem hack allows for the coverage that I prefer when wearing this look. My last pictures show my son and I in our matchy matchy looks. I created his sweatshirt using the same hem hack found in the tutorial.
I hope you enjoyed another look at this fun new pattern. Enjoy making so many fun options for you and your family using the new Hudson Hoodie Pattern and some easy hacks!
Until next time,
Happy Sewing
