My daughter’s Butterfly Cardigan was sewn up in this soft Alpaca Knit that is one of my most favorite fabrics I have ever worn. I was nice and shared my last of it with her. I sewed up the mustard Alpaca here and love this sweater so much!
My Cocoon Cardigan is sewn up in the Lux Loose Wide Waffle and I am loving it. This was my first time using this fabric and I am kicking myself for not ordering a ton more. It sewed up beautifully and feels incredible to wear.
Sewing Tips
These cardigans come together quite easily but here are a few things to help you while constructing your own cocoon cardigan:
-Attach clear elastic or twill tape in the shoulder seam to help reduce stretching out
-When using a serger, set your differential higher on fabrics like the lux loose wide waffle to avoid the dreaded wavy seams. You can see I still had a tad bit of wavy seams on the band and did my best to steam those out, but the more you adjust your serger settings before starting, the better it will turn out.
If you need help with your serger settings, check out my video here to help.
